Move many pages from test to production site
mrmagica - April 21, 2009 - 09:48
I'm fairly new to dupal and mainly deal with the themeing of websites so please excuse me if this is an obvious question. I have created several basic pages on our test website, none have anything special on them just text, images and links. I want to move these pages to the live site and would really prefer not to re-build each one manually on the live site. Can I just simply select the nodes in the mySQL database, export them and then import into the mySQL on the live site? Alternatively is their a piece of software that will do this for me. Many thanks.

Node import/ node export modules?
Node import/export may be a solution (http://drupal.org/project/node_export) (http://drupal.org/project/node_import), although I did not test the node export module personally. The node import from CSV worked fine for me.
Note that you will still need to transfer attachments and images manually.
hope this helps
Many Thanks
I had searched the modules on drupal.org for something like this - but somehow never managed to find it!
I have set all the extra files e.g. images at the same level in the files structure so these should work fine.
I will give this module a try.
Many thanks again.
One technique I use to keep
One technique I use to keep myself informed about modules (beside handbooks/docs, of course) is to visit often http://drupal.org/project/modules, sorting the list by last release or recent activity. This way you have a glimpse on what's going on with modules (and you learn a lot about them)
cheers
