Translate the word HOME on Front page (home page)

ncarson - July 2, 2009 - 12:36

Hello,
I am using Drupal6. I finally got the text of the front page translating properly via the Language switcher
The only problem is that still on the front page it displays "HOME" for both french and Englsih. I think this is due to the
fact that I am using Aliases.

My English path for the Eng is http://www.xxxxxx.ca/drupal6/en/node/1 and the alias http://www.xxxxxx.ca/drupal6/en/content/home

The path the the french front page is http://www.xxxxxx.ca/drupal6/fr/node/5 and the alias is http://www.xxxxxx.ca/drupal6/fr/content/home

Using the above was the only way I could get the language switcher to work properly.
I think due to the fact that I am using /content/home for both eng and Fr is the reason why I have 'HOME' on both the eng and fr pages.

Under admin/site config / site info / default front page I have http://www.xxxxxx.ca/drupal6/en/content/home or
http://www.xxxxxx.ca/drupal6/fr/content/home

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thank you
Neil

Does the menu need to be translated

Where is "HOME" being displayed?

If it is a menu then the menu for the front page may need to be translated - http://drupal-translation.com/node/40

The same here

when I change translated "home" to "inicio" (spanish), the home translation stops working. The solution I did was keep the translated Title and Menu link, but, uncheck automatic path name and change it from "inicio" to "home", then title and menu looks translated and home is working good in both languages.

Let me know if there is another solution..
