imagecache module- getting strange error message
abbe - July 5, 2009 - 21:34
I went to sitebuild-> imagecache-> add new preset and when I got there I got this message:
warning: mkdir() [function.mkdir]: SAFE MODE Restriction in effect. The script whose uid is 10002 is not allowed to access sites/default/files/imagecache/100x100 owned by uid 48 in /var/www/vhosts/abovegraphics.com/httpdocs/abbe01/sites/all/modules/imagecache/imagecache.module on line 525.
what is wrong and do i need to reset anything or reinstall anything? If anyone knows the problem can you explain the fix for it in detail please- I'm a newbie with drupal. Thanks!

The server can't create the necessary directories because SAFE MODE is enabled on your server. Ask host to disable safe_mode
Work around
We are also facing this problem - and our client will not turn safe mode off - is there another workaround you are aware of?

Very Funny
alas I did do that before adding to the forum, and have changed ownership - however we continue to experience an unserialized error that other google research suggests is a corrupted db, however when we move it back to a server with safe mode off the site seems to work fine
Robert - there may be more underlying issues with my clients server other than safe mode
